covervol8_smDR. STRICEVIC’S KARATE INSTRUCTOR PROGRAM

Scientific Karate Inc. (SKI) take pride in announcing the offering of a Dr. Stricevic’s Karate Instructor Program (Dr.S’sKIP) in affiliation with Long Island University's School of Continuing Studies Brooklyn, New York USA. This joint Continuing Education Program will be abbreviated as SKI-Dr.S’sKIP.

On a larger scale, SKI-Dr.S’sKIP will deal with scientific information and knowledge common to all karate styles. Technical knowledge that is unique to particular karate styles will be fully respected by SKI-Dr.S’sKIP and left to be taught by the karate styles.

Throughout the 1960's and into the 1980's karate was centralized and taught in a few major national organizations. Modern day karate is very much decentralized. Majority of students are learning karate in either individual dojos or in the numerous small karate organizations. The need for structural dissemination of scientific knowledge that will go beyond teaching the technical skill of style is more evident that ever before.

In karate of the 2000's, children, young adults, older individuals, martial artists, and male and female competitive athletes all have one thing in common: the desire to learn true karate. While their goal is one, the methodology is different for each of the mentioned groups. SKI-Dr.S’sKIP will address these unique needs from the point of view of karate tradition as well as from the conclusions that are presented by scientific research and from the concepts of modern sports medicine.

SKI-Dr.S’sKIP is open to individuals interested in expanding their knowledge required to teach beginners, intermediate and advanced karate practitioners of different age, gender, and technical levels. This 3.5 CEU (CEU=Continuing Education Units) Program is designed keeping in mind the growing need for updating and disseminating knowledge that karate of the 21st century requires and deserves.

SKI-Dr.S’sKIP has two different programs:

a) BEGINNER AND INTERMEDIATE LEVEL
b) ADVANCE LEVEL

ONLY upon completion of the ADVANCE LEVEL of SKI-Dr.S’sKIP, students will receive 2 certificates:

a) Certificate from Long Island University’s School of Continuing Studies and Scientific Karate Inc. (SKI)
b) Certificate from Scientific Karate Inc. (SKI)
